My Journey
Growing up, I was overweight and quite self-conscious. My teenage years were difficult, and I knew I needed a change. So, I asked my mum to enrol me in dance classes, and that’s where my passion for fitness truly began. I continued dancing until I had my son at 26. Then, at 33, my son convinced me to try a martial arts class—something I wasn’t initially interested in. But I quickly became hooked, and it became our special mother-and-son activity. Five years later, we both earned our black belts.
My love for fitness then led me to explore bodybuilding. I enjoyed the discipline it required and watching my body transform year after year. In 2015, at 43, I started competing in Bikini Fitness. That year, I also decided to completely change careers—from finance to fitness—and enrolled to become a Personal Trainer. It was a decision I’ve never regretted. In 2016, my husband and I moved to Malta, my home country, and founded Steelextreme Fitness, a strength-based personal training gym. It was a huge leap for both of us, but it paid off. I truly consider SEF my baby, and I feel incredibly lucky to do what I love every day.
At 50, I competed in Wellness and won 1st place in my category, which led me to the Arnold Classic in Seville—a dream come true for any bodybuilder. That was my final competition, and since I thrive on challenges, I decided to switch gears and start training for powerlifting.
However, in 2023, my mother’s passing hit me hard, and so did menopause. I honestly felt like I was just existing, unsure of what was happening to me. Menopause turned my life upside down, and I was completely unprepared. From brain fog to strange ringing in my ears, to hot flushes and cold sweats, I struggled to manage everything—my business, my life, and myself. That’s when I decided to specialise in women’s health and wellness, with a particular passion for supporting women through every stage of life, including menopause. My goal is to help women not only navigate this transition but also unlock their full potential to become the most amazing version of themselves.
I want women to know they are never alone on this journey. Whether it’s improving health, building strength, enhancing nutrition, or navigating life’s changes, I’m here to guide, support, and empower them every step of the way.
